Synopsis: The story of four dedicated people – Yuan Mo, A Shu, Wang Kun Wu, and Yu Chi Hua – who, motivated by ideas, fearlessly start on a quest for their country and justice.

During the Daming Dynasty’s peaceful years, Yuan Mo, a commoner from Changle City, stands at the city gates, distributing permits to foreign visitors with the Four Square Pavilion’s seal. Unexpectedly, he meets A Shu, a refugee from Yanle Kingdom attempting to sneak into the city, resulting in a confrontation. As a consequence, the freshly arrived frontier general Wang Kun Wu is penalized with supervising responsibilities at the Four Square Pavilion.

As a result, Yuan Mo is unwittingly drawn into the operations of the Four Square Pavilion’s western office, which is commanded by Yu De Shui. He becomes a junior official in charge of numerous foreign matters. Through a sequence of fortunate occurrences, A Shu becomes Yuan Mo’s “little maidservant,” Wang Kun Wu becomes his boss, and the fearsome Yu Chi Hua, a powerful noblewoman, enters the mix. Yuan Mo, formerly mocked as a “useless” member of the western office, grows as he navigates difficult diplomatic issues.
